American Cream
(clean legged to light feather)
The first draft breed to originate in The U.S. It is a rare breed that started with a single mare named "Old Granny" and bred to other draught breeds to start the foundation. Many horses have little to no pedigree. Most are homozygous for the champagne gene. A few horses carry the cream gene. Stallions must have pink skin, and white mane & tail. Mares with dark skin and light mane & tail are accepted as Foundation Stock. Hazel eyes are preferred. Manes and tails are left natural.
