Friesian Horse - is an agile, light draft horse used as a war mount, originally of the The Netherlands. The body type of the Friesian has greatly changed over the years when they were known as the "Black Belgian". Today, there are two body-types Baroque [heavier] or Modern [Sport horse]. Friesians are mostly used in Dressage and driving.
About colour: Both bay and grey historically existed within the breed until the turn of the 20th century when the Friesian Horse was bred exclusively for black. Today all colours other than homozygous black are prohibited by the Friesian Horse Registry. Though heterozygous blacks and chestnuts are acceptable by the registry, they remain only in the foal book and are not allow to be used to produce pure bred progeny. Also approved Friesians are not allowed to produce part bred foals and they don’t practice AI. White markings are undesired but a small star or snip is permissible. White leg and loud facial markings are allow but horses with them will not leave the foal book.
My Friesian Horse, although wouldn't be recognised by the registry are allowed pure and part progeny.
If you don’t like don’t use them or complain.
